Holiday Appeal: Help Fund Cataract Surgery for Someone who Desperately needs it!
Millions of people in India suffer from cataracts, making it one of the country’s leading causes of blindness. This condition negatively impacts individual health, leads to lost productivity, and increases healthcare costs for families. Most people in rural areas lack access to healthcare facilities that perform cataract surgeries.
Take the story of Gajru and Laxmi, two sisters from a family of daily wage laborers struggling to make ends meet. For two years, they battled vision problems, which ultimately forced Laxmi to stop working entirely. Fortunately, Gajru’s daughter brought them to the PRASAD Health Center, where they underwent thorough ophthalmic evaluations and were diagnosed with cataracts.
In September, both sisters had successful surgeries, and they were overjoyed with the results. They expressed profound gratitude for the PRASAD surgeon who restored their vision. Laxmi remarked, “I no longer depend on my family for daily activities. I can start working again, helping with household chores, and contributing financially.”
PRASAD Chikitsa is committed to addressing cataracts through a multifaceted approach that includes increasing awareness, educating villagers, and providing regular eye exams and surgeries. This initiative has helped restore vision and improve the quality of life for thousands. Since the first eye camp in 1990, PRASAD Chikitsa has conducted over 262,000 eye screenings and surgeries.
This holiday season, consider giving the gift of sight. A donation of $70 can help fund cataract surgery for someone who desperately needs it, transforming lives and restoring hope. Together, we can uplift countless families and ensure they enjoy a brighter future.
Thank you for your support!
