Dear Friends,

We are focused on and committed to protecting the health and safety of our staff, and the people we serve through our vital programs. The Coronavirus (COVID-19) is presenting the world with an immensely challenging situation, especially for those most vulnerable. Our thoughts are with the many people who have been affected.

We are following the guidance of national and regional health authorities on COVID-19 in the areas where we deliver services and are continually assessing the situation at our main office and our global programs.

Please watch this video message from PRASAD Trustee Dr. Vivek Panchapakesan to learn how PRASAD is addressing the situation.

Dr. Vivek Panchapakesan

PRASAD Chikitsa’s healthcare facilities continue to provide services, and they are taking the appropriate steps to protect patients and staff. Last week, all large community health camps were suspended until further notice.

The New York State Department of Health’s Bureau of Child Health asked all school providers to support their efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a result, Sullivan County schools are closed, and our dental clinic has suspended operations. Our staff is available 24/7 to answer any questions or concerns from parents and refer children in need of urgent dental care.

PRASAD de México’s eye camp scheduled in March was suspended in collaboration with the local government.

We are taking this unprecedented challenge very seriously and will continue to do our utmost to support our programs across the globe. We will resume suspended programming when advisable by local and national health authorities. Look for future updates.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to our office at prasad@prasad.org if you need assistance or have any questions.

Wishing you good health and safety during this difficult time and always.

Warm regards,

Dr. M. Cecilia Escarra
Executive Director
The PRASAD Project, Inc.
